`Qasas-ul-Anbiya` the stories of the prophets have been compiled from `Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah` (The Beginning and the End) which is a great work of the famous Muslim exegete and historian Ibn Kathir and has a prominent place in the Islamic literature. The stories of the prophets and all the events in their lives have been supported by the Qur`anic Verses and the Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet (S). Wherever it was necessary, other sources have also been reported for the sake of historical accounts, but on such places a comparative study has been made to prove the authenticity of the sources. Ibn Kathir has reproduced the views and interpretations of all the great exegetes of the Qur`an of his time. The systemic narratives of the Stories of the Prophets have been written in chronological order which renders a historical style to the book.

ساری امت اس بات پر متفق ہے کہ کائنات کی افضل اور بزرگ ترین ہستیاں انبیاء ہیں ۔جن کا مقام عام انسانوں سے بلند ہے ۔ اس کا سبب یہ ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں اپنے دین کی تبلیغ کے لیے منتخب فرمایا لوگوں کی ہدایت ورہنمائی کےلیے انہیں مختلف علاقوں اورقوموں کی طرف مبعوث فرمایا۔اور انہوں نے بھی تبلیغ دین اوراشاعتِ توحید کےلیے اپنی زندگیاں وقف کردیں۔ اشاعت ِ حق کے لیے شب رروز انتھک محنت و کوشش کی اور عظیم قربانیاں پیش کر کے پرچمِ اسلام بلند کیا ۔قرآن کریم میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے جابجا ان پاکیزہ نفوس کا واقعاتی انداز میں ذکر فرمایا ہے ۔ جس کا مقصد محمد ﷺ کو سابقہ انبیاء واقوام کے حالات سے باخبر کرنا، آپ کو تسلی دینا اور لوگوں کو عبرت ونصیحت پکڑنے کی دعوت دینا ہے بہت سی احادیث میں بھی انبیاء ﷺ کےقصص وواقعات بیان کیے گئے ہیں۔انبیاء کے واقعات وقصص پر مشتمل مستقل کتب بھی موجود ہیں۔ زیر تبصرہ کتاب ’’ قصص الانبیاء ‘‘ میں انبیاء کرام کےحالات کے لیے سب سے قرآنی آیات کو سامنے رکھا ہے اور۔ہر پیغمبر کےاحوال واقعات سے عبرت وموعظت کے جو پہلو نکلتے ہیں انہیں بطور خاص جگہ دی گئی ہے
